Law new is a concept that many legal firms are embracing to help them create value for their clients. The idea is that by using various methods of working with client issues that have not been a part of standard legal practice, lawyers can create different types of solutions for clients and provide the legal services that are needed at the right price. The concept of law new can be difficult to define as it means different things to different people but is generally understood to include areas of the law that are not typically included in traditional law firms.

A bill is a proposal for a new law or change to an existing law. It can be proposed by a member of Congress, or by constituents who recommend a new or amended law to their representative. The new or amended bill is then referred to a committee for detailed study, discussion, and modification. If the bill is approved by a committee, it can be passed on to the full chamber for a vote. If the bill is not approved by the full chamber, it can be sent back to the committee for further modification or dropped from consideration altogether.

Once a bill is passed by the full chamber, it becomes a law. Then the Mayor has 30 days to sign the bill into law or veto it. If the Mayor vetoes a bill, it can be overridden by the Council with a 2/3 vote. If the Mayor signs a bill into law, it becomes the New York City Charter and Administrative Code.

This bill would require local government agencies to disclose security breaches of personal identifying information of persons who have been notified of the breach. It also would require the department or agency to notify those persons who have been affected by a data breach of their rights and options. It amends the privacy rules in New York City’s SHIELD Act, and makes other changes to better align the City’s laws with State law.
